England Success for Hampshire Athletes
Following the National Screening day at Loughborough on Saturday 24 March 2012, Hampshire Netball is very pleased and proud to announce that two Hampshire-based girls have been selected into the U17s: Katie Hayward and Elsa Wakeman, both from Weston Park Blades. Ashleigh Stock (who lives in Dorset but also plays for Weston Park Blades) was also selected into the U17s. These girls will be joining the other National Excel athletes at the upcoming Easter Camp in Sheffield.
Also from Weston Park Blades, Hannah Joseph and Yasmin Parsons have been selected into the National U21 training squad for the World Youth Championships in Glasgow next year.
Another success is the selection of Lymington based Mia Ritchie (pictured right) who has been selected into the England Open squad to play against Barbados in the forthcoming 3 test series in April. Mia was delighted to make her debut in the 2nd test on her home court at Bath on Thursday 12 April playing the whole game at Centre. Mia was a member of the inaugural Team South NTL team and is currently playing for Bournemouth 7's Blades in Premier 1 and Team Bath in the Fiat Netball Superleague.
