Extension of Expiry Dates

Course information in regards to COVID-19

Policy for the extension of expiry dates for the England Netball INTO officiating awards, due to COVID-19, is as follows (and attached):

Attended an INTO course and not applied for INTO practical assessment

Learners have 2 years from the date that they attended an INTO course in which to take their practical assessment. This is being extended by 12 months from the recommencement of competition following the end of lockdown (date to be confirmed).

Application for INTO practical assessment

All applications for practical assessments that have already been submitted to a county organiser will remain valid. When competition recommences following the end of lock down (date to be confirmed), organisers will be required to arrange the INTO assessment within 3 months (currently 1 month).

Validity of the INTO award

The INTO award is currently valid for 4 years. This is being extended by 12 months from the recommencement of competition following the end of lockdown (date to be confirmed).

Netball Europe C, B and A umpiring award

Written awards C, B and A

Any umpire who already has a written award pass with an expiry date on or after 16th March 2020 will have their expiry date extended by 12 months (so for example, if your expiry date was originally April 30th2020 this will now be extended to April 30th 2021).

Attended a C or B course and not already applied for written assessment

Learners have 2 years from the date that they attended a course (either C or B award) in which to take their written assessment. This is being extended by 12 months from the recommencement of competition following the end of lockdown (date to be confirmed).

Application for C, B and A practical assessment

All applications for practical assessments that have already been submitted to a country organiser will remain valid. When competition recommences following the end of lock down (date to be confirmed), organisers will be required to arrange the assessment within the following timeframes:

• C award - 6 months (currently 3 months)

• B award - 8 months (currently 4 months)

• A award - 12 months (currently 6 months)

INTO officiating – 3 months (currently 1 month)

These timeframes have been extended to allow the candidates sufficient time to undertake relevant match umpiring in preparation for their practical assessment and to allow organisers sufficient time for the organisation of the assessment.
