Schools Competitions 2011/12 - U14, U16 and U19

Hampshire were represented by eight teams in the Regional round of the National Schools competition on a bitterly cold day at the E4 Netball Centre in East Grinstead on 28 January.  In the U14 age group Bay House from Gosport finished 5th with Portsmouth Grammer finishing outside the top 8.  The U16 Hampshire teams were most successful with Priestlands School from Lymington finishing an excellent equal 3rd and King Edwards VI from Southampton going one better and making the final where they were narrowly beaten in extra time by Brighton.  In the U19 section, Portsmouth Grammar School finished in 6th place whilst Taunton's College from Southampton just missed out on making the final after being beaten in extra time by Welllington College.

So, with the top 2 in each age group going on to represent the South at the National Finals on Saturday 17 March 2012 at the Basildon Sporting Village, Hampshire's sole representative will be King Edwards VI School from Southampton.  We wish them a very successful day.

Hampshire Netball would like to say a bit well done to all eight teams, seven of which finished in the top six in their age groups.  A great achievement.

More details on the day can be found on the Netball South website.
