Development
Hampshire Netball Association is committed to driving Netball Development forward for all members. We work with partners to fund a full time Netball Development Officer who delivers a wide range of programmes including:
- Return to Netball - for adults who would like to play Netball again in a fun, social, safe environment.
- Club Development - for junior and senior clubs to develop their personnel, club and members. Encourage clubs to gain club accreditation - CAPS. Work with clubs to create and develop school-club links.
- Funding - assisting individuals, clubs to gain funding from grants and bursaries. HNA now has a bursary form that members can use to apply for possible financial help towards courses - download form (form updated November 2011 - please do not use previous versions as they will not be accepted).
- Talent Identification - providing opportunities for players to reach their potential within the sport. (see below for more information)
- Promotion and Publicity - spreading the word about local netball as far and wide as possible.
- Coaching and Umpiring - promoting courses and where possible coordinating courses locally.

Playing for England – the Performance Pathway
If you want to play netball for England it will take a great deal of hard physical work. Being talented is not enough, and only players with the right attitude to training and playing will make it to the top.
The Netball Excel Pathway is the England Netball process for developing athletes with the attributes to attain excellence. The programmes within the pathway are focused on developing athletes to reach their potential and form the foundations to enable England Netball to be the Number 1 Ranked Team in the World.
These programmes provide performance-enhancing training for individuals, not squads. Competition is outside the Excel Pathway Programmes, in clubs (local leagues, county leagues and regional leagues) and (but not only) school competition. Further information
If you have any questions about the Regional Academy or generally on the performance pathway please contact the South Region Excel Coach: Elly Moore elly.moore@englandnetball.co.uk
Are you interested in becoming a talent scout?
We are looking for more volunteers to help find, nominate and select talented players. Please contact Sue Baldwin, Regional Head Scout email suebaldwin@talk21.com for more details.
