Coaching Courses in South Region
The South region has two Level 2 coaching courses and three Level 1 coaching courses running in the second half of the year (October 2010 to March 2011).
The dates for the courses are:

Please note that all courses have a closing date for booking forms. Please ensure that you forms reach Head Office by the closing date stated below the course information.
These will be the only courses run in the South between now and March 2011 so if you are interested please ensure that you book your place on the course as soon as possible. If the courses are not full they will not run and we will not be able to re-arrange the course until after March 2011.

Level 1 Courses - Brockenhurst and Basingstoke
The next UKCC Level 1 coaching courses in Hampshire are:
- Brockenhurst College, Lyndhurst Road, Brockenhurst, Hampshire, SO42 7ZE on the 6 and 7 November 2010 with the assessment on the 5 December 2010.
- The Vyne Community School, Vyne Road, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG21 5PB on the 26 and 27 February 2011 with the assessment on the 26 March 2011.
Candidates must be at least 16 years of age, have a sound knowledge and experience of the netball game and an understanding of the rules. The cost of the course is £170.00

Coach Wanted
Southern Vectis on the Isle of Wight are looking for a new coach. They train on Monday nights starting at the beginning of September. They are willing to pay and can pick up and take back to the ferry if needed. If you know of anyone that might be interested please could contact the club via email.
Coach and Players Wanted
Nokia Netball Club is looking for a new full time coach (payment depending on qualifications) for the 2010/2011 season. We train every alternate Wednesday from 7pm until 8.30pm in the Farnborough area and have two teams that play in the Wavell League in Farnborough, Hampshire.
The club is also looking for new players to join our ever expanding club (beginners to experienced players are both welcome).

Level 2 courses in the South Region
The Region has two Level 2 coaching courses now available to book on. The details are as follows:
- Wexham School, Slough, Berkshire = 23 & 24 October / 13 & 14 November / 11 December.
- Aylesbury College, Aylesbury, Bucks - 29 & 30 January / 19 & 20 February / 26 February.
Candidates are required to:
- be at least 18 years of age
- have attended (prior to completion of the course) a recognised Child protection/Duty of care training course
- have attended (prior to completion of the course) a recognised Emergency 1st Aid course It is highly recommended that applicants have been an active coach in Netball for a minimum of 2 years, or attended a Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Netball.

UKCC Level 2 Coaching Courses
The next set of UKCC Level 2 Coaching Courses, up to September for the whole Country are now live and available to apply to through the England Netball website. During this time there is one course in Hampshire at Brockenhurst College, Brockenhurst. The dates for the course are the 4 & 5 September, 25 & 26 September and the 30 October. The closing date is the 6 August. Please pass onto your teams and clubs. There is also a course at East Grinstead, West Sussex on the 15 & 16 May, 12 & 13 June and 4 July.
Coach Wanted
Tongham (Silver CAPS Club) is looking for coaches for 2010/2011 at all levels including those who need supporting for Level 1. They train indoors on Wednesdays Juniors 6:30pm to 8:00pm and Seniors 8:00pm till 10:00pm at Aldershot Garrison Sports centre.

CRB Advice
The following is a guide for all coaches, umpires and anyone involved in Netball activities in schools with persons ULF years old.
- The school accepts the risk - you are employed by the school and you have a CRB in the name of the school.
- The school treats you as a contractor - so you have a CRB from another organisation who vouch for you eg England Netball.
- The school treats you as a visitor and you are escorted at all times.
Coaching Upgrade
The old England Netball coaching awards (anything pre UKCC) will no longer be recognised by England Netball for insurance purposes after March 2013. There will be an upgrade course available for the England Netball Level 2 award from early 2010, this course will allow coaches to upgrade to the UKCC Level 2. For any coaches that hold anything older than the England Netball award Level 2, they will be asked to attend a UKCC Level 2 course or above to keep inline with the UKCC Coaching Framework.
England Netball are hoping to advertise this information and more on the England Netball website very soon.
REMINDER
To coach a club on your own you must hold a UKCC Level 2 coaching qualification. If you do not have this you are not insured. Those holding a UKCC Level 1 can only assist with coaching where a Level 2 Coach is in attendance.
If your club/team is coached by a Level 1 or unqualified coach it would jeopardize your insurance cover if there were a claim to be made.
Coach Tutor/Assessor Training
Just a quick reminder about the tutor and assessor courses being held across the South region. The course is for current level two UKCC coaches who are interested in becoming tutors for the level 1 and level 2 courses that are run by England Netball. Coaching Assessors/Tutors
England Netball are looking to expand its UKCC tutor and Assessor workforce, if you are a Level 2 coach and interested in becoming a tutor or an assessor then contact Angela Wrangles, angelaw@englandnetball.co.uk or Emma Walker, emmaw@englandnetball.co.uk or 01462 442 344. You will not be charged any training course, instead the training cost will be off set delivering a number of courses.
